If you are thinking about taking up falconry, or would like to learn about the husbandry and day to day welfare of birds of prey why not take up the opportunity of a CJ's Falconry Course. Our courses are run on a basis of no more than two people per course, giving you time to ask questions, learn and digest information.

The aim of the courses are to prepare anyone thinking of acquiring a bird of prey with the basic knowledge of how to care, house and train it safely and competently also hunting and field craft for those wishing to.

The courses are run over a three or four day period normally at weekends and will start at 9.30 till 3.30 depending on weather and time of year.

There are two main courses but please let us know your requirements and we will try to accommodate you:

 

These are run from November to February and are aimed at people wishing to take up falconry as a sport, flying and hunting their own bird of prey. You will spend three days learning about all aspects involved with keeping and training a bird of prey for hunting as well as looking at other species and their suitability as a falconry bird. Each day at the end of the session hawks will be taken out and flown. The final day will be spent out in the field with one of the CJ's team hunting a pair of hawks at quarry and putting all the knowledge you have learnt into practice.

Most of the course will take place at our base near Peterborough apart from the last day which will take place at our hunting grounds this will be arranged depending on time of year.
Cost £500.00 per person


These are run all year and are aimed at people wishing own and train their own bird of prey. You will have three days learning about all aspects involved with keeping and training a bird of prey as well looking at other species their characteristics. Each day you will have the chance to fly some hawks putting into practice what you have learnt.

All three days of the course will take place at our base near Peterborough .

After a day out on your course why not sit down with your partner and the CJ's Team to enjoy a four course Gourmet Dinner taking about the day, answering any additional questions you may have and telling a tale or two. One of the CJ's Team is well known Celebrity Chef for Horse and Country TV, BASC and a Lecturer in Culinary arts at Westminster Kingsway College, Jose Souto. Your Meal will include a culinary delight of four courses so be prepared to enjoy the good food, wine and conversation in a fantastic way to end the day.
